Discover the vibrant festival of Navroz, a cultural celebration cherished by over 300 million people in Iran, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and many other countries. In Farsi, Navroz (or Nowruz) means “new day’” and signifies nature’s rebirth, marking the beginning of the Persian New Year.
On Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, the Ismaili Council for Midwestern USA is hosting a one-day celebration to honor the arrival of spring. Join us at the Chicago History Museum theatre at 11:30 AM for live stage performances, storytelling, and music. This is a unique opportunity to experience the spirit of Navroz! Patrons can also visit the self-guided exhibit outside the theatre after the show. The exhibit displays a modern day interpretation of a Haft Seen table, where patrons can learn more about the holiday history and traditions.
