Following their annual meeting, the Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum invites you to a live recording of Dressed featuring host Cassidy Zachary with special guest CHM costume collection manager Jessica Pushor, as they discuss the exhibition Dressed in History: A Costume Collection Retrospective.

Speakers

Cassidy Zachary is a fashion historian, published author, and professional podcaster. Her work can be found in Vogue, The New York Times, and WWD among many publications. She is the founder of the popular blog turned Instagram account @The_Art_of_Dress, where every week she shares her passion for fashion history with over 300,000 followers around the globe. In addition to coauthoring the book Fashion and the Art of Pochoir, she has contributed to numerous publications on fashion history and has lectured on the topic throughout the United States. She is currently pursuing her PhD in history at the University of New Mexico where she is studying the relationship between fashion, race, and identity in the American Southwest.

Jessica Pushor has served as the Collection Manager of the Costume and Textile Collection at the Chicago History Museum since 2014. In addition to being the caretaker for an estimated 50,000-piece collection, Jessica has also cocurated the 2022 fashion exhibition Treasured Ten: Selections from the Costume Collection and cocurated the current exhibition Dressed in History: A Costume Collection Retrospective. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Jessica received her BA in art history from the University of Arizona and has an associate degree in fashion design. In 2013, Jessica earned her MA in Fashion and Textile Studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
