strollersinparkLooking for something different as you take your little one for a walk? Join us on our new stroller tours of Chicago’s historic parks with public historian and stay-at-home-dad Josh Eisenberg. Buckle up the kids and enjoy these adult-focused strolls.

Union Park

Monday, May 5, 9:30–11:00 a.m.

Explore the hidden gem of West Town. Learn about the legacy of the park—the first to be integrated in Chicago—as well as the surrounding neighborhood, which includes the home of Mary Todd Lincoln and one of the world’s largest harp companies. Meet at the Union Park Field House at Randolph and Ogden.

Cost: $20, $15 members. Kids in strollers are free.

Millennium Park

Monday, May 12, 9:30–11:00 a.m.

Opened in 2004, this $500-million park has become the centerpiece of Chicago’s downtown. Walk around the world’s largest green roof, discussing the history, architecture, and politics of the park. Meet at the corner of Randolph and Michigan.

Cost: $20, $15 members. Kids in strollers are free.

Lincoln Park

Monday, May 19, 9:30–11:00 a.m.

The largest park in Chicago was originally the city’s cemetery. Starting at the base of the park, follow a path north, talking about Boston Tea Partiers, a giant “tortoise,” and the Lincoln Park Conservatory. Meet at the Museum.
