Green Line West

Sundays, September 21, and October 19, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

This tour affords plenty of heavy-duty industrial and railroad sights, including abandoned factories and active freight lines. You'll step off the train once or twice to visit sites along the way, such as the Garfield Park Conservatory and historic Oak Park.

Brown Line

Sunday, October 5, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

Explore the historic buildings and back porches of the North Side, taking in the architecture of the business district at Armitage, the German heritage of Lincoln Square, and the tree-lined streets of Ravenswood Manor.

Green Line South

Sunday, October 5, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

Ride Chicago’s oldest L line, retracing the development of the city as it grew southward. Step off the train once or twice to visit neighborhoods along the way, such as Bronzeville and the Illinois Institute of Technology campus.

Blue Line

Sunday, October 19, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

Discover the history of the most ambitious of the four original elevated lines. Ride over the part that is now the Paulina Connector on the Pink Line and explore the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Wicker Park.

The Loop L

Sunday, November 16, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

Greg Borzo, author of The Chicago “L,” leads this journey of the Loop L. The tour includes commentary about stations and buildings along the route and amazing photographic opportunities. Please be prepared for 1.5 miles of walking.

Cost: $25, $20 members

Refunds for a tour will be given in the form of tour credit which can be applied to another tour. Credit will be given with a minimum of two weeks notice prior to the day of the tour. No exceptions.
